Hugh Taylor is an award-winning travel and guidebook writer, broadcaster and photographer contributing to a variety of publications and websites in the UK and abroad. He is currently Travel Editor of Laterlife.com one of the UK’s premier websites for the over 50’s. His radio work includes writing and producing a three-part series The Roaring Game and a half-hour documentary on the 'Pinkerton Detective Agency' for BBC Radio Scotland, as well as several specialist music/travel-related series for BBC Radio 2. With his wife and writing partner, Moira McCrossan he has written or contributed to over 40 guidebooks including AA Essential Scotland, AA Spiral Guide to Scotland, Fifty Walks in Glasgow and South West Scotland (AA) and Globetrotter Jordan ( New Holland). Their latest guide, Globetrotter Best of Cancun and Yucatan is due for publication by New Holland in 2008. A substantial part of each year is devoted to walking and outdoor titles mainly in Scotland and the North of England. He is author of two titles in the Jarrold Short Walks series – Short Walks in Fort William and Short Walks in Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park. He has also recently revised several of the Jarrold Pathfinder walking guides including Inverness and North East Highlands, Glasgow, Clyde Valley, Ayrshire and Arran, Dumfries and Galloway, Oban, Mull and Kintyre, Cairngorms, Loch Lomond and the Lake District. Hugh is tutor on the National Union of Journalists Travel Writing Course.
